“Their fashion has had a HUGE impact on pop culture.”
Nadine Ellis (she was one of the dancers on Aaliyah’s Rock The Boat video) shares her memories of Aaliyah on Wendy Williams show.
Yes, as I mentioned I did see Aaliyah in concert in 1997 for Grad Nite for high school seniors. I vaguely remember the concert though. See, I didn’t get into her music until college. I did not like the work she had with R. Kelly; I liked more of her work with Timbaland and Missy. Thus, by the time I got into her music (“Are You That Somebody” is what did it for me; that is my SONG!), that concert had passed. I do remember her being incredibly beautiful and put on a pretty good show.
She ended up passing away only a couple of months after I graduated college and my own mom passed away around the same time and it was just an incredibly sad time for me. But her music is really great and I love her later in life music the most. She was truly special and her music was like a part of my coming into adulthood soundtrack in the way Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was. Good stuff.
HAPPY FRIDAY TO MY DEAR FOLLOWERS

“We loved with a love that was more than love.” - Edgar Allan Poe
Do not wait for one day to declare your love for someone. Live each day like it is your last or like EVERY day is your Valentine’s Day. Love hard and don’t be afraid to let those closest to you know it, for we never truly know what our tomorrow holds.
This world would be a much better place, if we were all reminded each & every day what it is to love & be loved in return.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
